In 1988 Luke undertook a 3 month residency at Berllanderri Sculpture Studio. During this period he modelled a bust of Katie Hood.
Her brother Matthew was modelled 1 year later.
Interesting Facts
With many hours to experiment upon this bust, I found it exciting to try out many different techniques that I had been researching. Methods from Rodin’s studio, such as dipping the bust into liquid plaster to obtain a tight skin like youthful surface helped inform the look of this bust. Similar effect were explored in the bust of Billy Connolly.
